Climate change is transforming the business landscape globally, presenting new challenges and shared opportunities. Ireland's ambition to transition to a low carbon and environmentally sustainable economy will be driven by the preparedness of businesses and the workforce, demanding new skills.

The Skillnet Climate Ready Academy offers a range of specialised training programmes and short courses to help upskill businesses and their employees in the area of Climate Action, Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility.

The Academy offers accredited microcredential programmes that can be stacked to lead to a QQI Level 7 Certificate in Sustainable Resource Management.

Climate Ready

Live Programmes

Skillnet Climate Ready Academy offers a variety of targeted training programmes which are facilitated live as a series of online workshops.

Participants who complete three of the four courses labelled "Micro-Credentials" below can pursue a QQI Level 7 Certificate in Sustainable Resource Management (awarded by the University of Limerick).

    Micro-Credentials

    Sustainability Leaders Programme

    The Sustainability Leaders Programme* provides practical support and guidance to help organisations successfully transition to a sustainable business model and prepare for reporting requirements.  

    It introduces the core principles of sustainability including identification of dependencies, analysis of impacts, risks and opportunities as well as Stakeholder Management and Supply Chain analysis.  The aim of the programme is to help learners develop a Sustainability Action Plan that is aligned to key environmental topics and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Biodiversity Leaders Programme
    Micro-Credentials

    Biodiversity Leaders Programme

    The Biodiversity Leaders programme aims to inspire and assist businesses to take action to protect and enhance our natural world.  The programme will strengthen participants’ knowledge of the important role nature plays in combatting climate change and the role businesses can play in protecting our fragile ecosystems. 

    Participants will develop their understanding of the opportunities and risks associated with biodiversity and will develop a tailored and impactful biodiversity action plan.

    Energy Leaders Programme

    The Energy Leaders Programme, in collaboration with the SEAI, helps businesses and energy professionals manage their energy usage and develop a plan to reduce their scope 1 and 2 emissions.

    Learners will gain the knowledge and expertise to reduce energy waste, optimise cost savings, and protect the environment by lowering their emissions.  Changing behaviours within the workplace can help businesses lower operating costs while conserving energy, which is vital for combatting climate change.
